History: Wiki link

Personality: Lothar at first comes across as what everyone would expect a stereotypical warrior to be like, someone who doesn't seem to care for things on first glance if they can't be pummeled into the ground. Not that they'd be incorrect in that assumption so to speak; Lothar would be more than happy to curbstomp someone if he knew it would give him the advantage and upper hand in a battle. There just so happens to be more to him than that first glance would tell. He's not simple by any means, but Lothar is also not a complicated man at his core.

"Don't try and take them out with brute force. They're stronger, be smart."

The first thing would be that Lothar is smarter than he lets on, a quiet, brooding sort of intelligence that lurks behind his threats of physical violence. As a Commander of Stormwind, Lothar has good tactical and military knowledge and knows when and where to strike to the best effect to win a battle. Not only that but when Lothar first comes across Khadgar, he instantly reacts to when the mage casts a spell, knowing full well that not only can the mage not cast with his mouth covered, but that his tattoo is the mark of the Kirin Tor. Considering those mages live high up on a floating island it shows that Lothar has more knowledge of the wider world as a whole. His men show a loyalty with every action, knowing that their Commander has their back and vice versa. There isn't a shred of doubt between any of Lothar's men and it's merely a testament to the Commander that he's made it that way. Even when they let Khadgar into the barracks to look at some fallen soldiers, they tell Lothar, barely able to keep it a secret.

Lothar is also sarcastic and has a wry sense of humor, the kind that does sometimes come at another person's expense, though not necessarily in a malicious sense. He will tease Khadgar for being young and inept, but it's the kind of teasing that an older brother would subject a younger sibling to. He even goes as far to sass the Queen at once point, but then he sees no issue with it considering that Taria is his sister. When Khadgar mentions that he found something in a book, Lothar's outward reaction is simply one of "why am I even surprised?", saying as much but at the same time listening to what the kid has to say before thinking it over. He likes his ale, food, and seems to be somewhat bemused under the surface as he watches the world go by.

"You had me worried. You're all I have."

The Commander of Stormwind's life hasn't been an easy ride. He finds it hard to show affection openly as affection. He has a son, Callan, who killed his mother during childbirth. It's something that Lothar later admits that he held against his son, only really coming to terms with it after his son dies in a battle against the orc Blackhand. Whilst he's openly said he was worried when Callan was injured, Lothar shows his love for his son with a more gruff kind of affection that comes out as more worrying over if the kid will make a good soldier or not. Even when he seems to be getting close with Garona, Lothar is drunk and grieving; before and after that she's subjected to the same sass that everyone else is. Even Khadgar isn't exempt when he's subjected to eyerolling, tsking and probably dead arm punches.

Unlike Llane, who seems to want to pursue peace even if it means deals with some orc, Lothar isn't so quick to openly trust them with everything. Every situation he steps into with the orc is one with a slight hint of suspicion, showing that he's not so keen on trusting people until they prove themselves as such. And he's also been shown to hold a grudge, making sure to take in how the orc Blackhand looks so he can seek retribution later on the being. Lothar only needs to make a mistake once before he learns from it and moves swiftly on, be it personally or in a fight.

Lothar is a good example of bravery and courage, from jumping from the top of a tall building to land on his gryphon, to trying to do the right thing in the worst situations. He isn't afraid to stand up to anyone, including his friends if he believes they are in the wrong and it's something that can get him into trouble (and a jail cell) on occasion.

Abilities: Lothar is an arms warrior meaning he wears plate and is proficient in the use of two handed weaponry, mainly swords. There's no magic for him to use or mana to rely on, it is mainly strength and stamina alone. He is also good at commanding troops since he is the commander of Stormwind. This means his tactics tend to be better ones and he's able to look into things from a military perspective.

A list of arms skills warriors have been known to use in the warcraft universe are:
